happy end of the year, and of course a happy New Year 2010

So, I'm at my in laws thinking about all the great things that God has done this year in my life, my ministry and marriage. Our Christmas was very fun, we got to give our nephews a new wii, and they loved it, my sister got engaged too!!! We are visiting Pete and Teri for New Years Eve, and so, I think our year is coming to an end.

There are a lot of things that I'm excited about for this next year.

I'm excited about my sister getting married, I think we've been planning this wedding since we can pretend to walk down the aisle, I think we will be doing it at our favorite time of the year, we're its okay to be a little flamboyant, Christmas 2010, unless she changes her mind, its okay with me too.

The circle staff and myself have been praying for guidance for all the kids we are having, and the possibility of opening a new one too.

I'm starting to take action in studying for my new path when I move to the U.S. I want to be a Certified Court Interpreter, so that will take some of my time trying to prepare and learn new words, exercising my brain. So if you know any good tips for memory retention PLEASE email me or call or facebook.

This is the cliche New Years resolution, I want to lose weight, I want to look fabulous for my sister's wedding, I have only two options, to be fit or to be pregnant, nothing in the middle. Flat belly or baby belly. Thats it.

Im happy that crime has gone down in Tijuana, m happy that more homes are being built, Im soo happy that Moms wont be preocupied about their blankets and beds getting wet or having muddy floors, I really hope that we can build more homes this next year. That God supplies enough for people to want to give homes.

Ive made many new friends this year, and Im deeply Proud and Honored to serve next to the servent hearted people who volunteer at the Circle every week.

Susie, Sandra, Gloria, Elsy, Dina and the Flores Family blessed my life greatly this past months, thank you for allowing me to live a simple dream that turned in to a great thing.

Tea Party

I had a wonderful tea party with close friends at our new house, I made some brownies, and my new tea set made a debut!!!!
It was lots of fun, Susie, Sandra and Gloria were my special guests, also my great friends who also help out at the circle.
It felt good to have a few friends over after being stuck at home sick for a few days.

Challenge

Christmas day is near, and I have to crochet a lot!!!!
I already did some of my Christmas decorating, I think Im going to make a few hats for my students at the circle, do you think I can make 15 hats in 11 days? I hope I can I will post pictures of our Posada activity next Tuesday december 15th.

its been 3 months

Its been 3 months since I last wrote on this blog, again I apologize, a lot of things have been hapening, Pete and Teri, spent Thanksgiving Day at our House, it was fun, I also had the best prailine Yams on this side of the world.

I also got to build the weekend with a wonderful group of people from the Defender company, many of them were from Indianapolis, I made a lot of good friends.

Its been 6 months since we started The Walking Circle with 11 kids, and now we have over 50 kids.

We also moved to the base, Chad and I finished setting up house a few days a go, so its been very crazy trying to get everything figured out.

Im excited and looking forward to this holiday season, Ive already started some of my Xmas decorating, I just need to get a Xmas tree.

Its been hard working without a laptop, or a pc, thakfully Chad shares his with me, and that is another reason that I havent been able to write more often and upload pictures, or the fact that we dont have a camera either, so its been challenging, but I know that God is good and faithful and that those little things wont stop his will and his work here in tijuana.

Please keep us in your prayers, this are some of the things that you can pray about

1. That we can adjust to live in community.
2. That God blesses us with the tools we need to do ministry (computer, camera)
3. For peace and rest, during this bussy season, lots of building
4. Guidance for my life and what is going to happen when Chad and I move to California next year.

At last we started!!! The circle does exist.

After many months of planning and praying, last week we had our first math and reading circle, it was a blessing to see the kids all excited to start with our circle, which happens to be a parachute, that we use for our welcoming activity. We have the circle stretched on the floor, before we do anything, we welcome them to the circle and talk about the rules of the circle, like respecting others and congratulating others when they do something well, etc. After we do that we start playing with the parachute. Meanwhile the kids get there, after we punt the circle on the floor and sit on it, and we have a guest reader, and after we do a craft or an activity about reading comprehension.

I'm so happy that the first time, Moms that have actually receive a "Homes of Hope" home, were helping too.

It's a great blessing to see how God has been faithful.

1st step!!!!

So today was my first step in to really getting in touch with the people we are going to be  ministering. I also had the great opportunity to share God and pray with a lady from the colonia we visited.

One of the things that called me to do in YWAM, is to use my passion for education to touch other people's lives. During our DTS Outreach, I got sick for a whole week, my defenses where very low, and all my lymph nodes were very swollen,  and other stuff too.  I had to stay in our little room, and just eat, sleep, and listen over and over to the same songs on my ipod. And also like any good crocheter, I Crochet half of the time too. God started to talk to me very strongly about having a reading circle and a math club, where children could have a safe environment to learn and also get to know God. He gave me a very detailed plan, that, there isn't that much that needs to be added, until now. I hope there's a lot more to do.
In a few words, its going to be called "Circulo andante"  Walking circle in english. The circle is focused on having a safe environment for kids to learn practice and improve their reading and math skills.  We also want to have parents involved, because they are very important in their development. So we will have a breakfast where we can give parents tips on how to do homework with their kids, how to help out with habits we are trying to establish in the circle.  The Reading Circle will last for an hour, during that time, we will have reading warm up exercises, and games that will improve their reading and writing. Then we will have a Guest Story teller, and will read with us the story about the habit we are trying to learn for that  month.    The math club will have the same structure,  we will have games, and warm up exercises, And have a life application story that has something to do with the habit, and the math operation we are practicing that day.

So, if you want to be a part of this, either by volunteiring, supporting financiallly or donating things in kind. Please dont hesitate to email me or comment, tell your friends about it, or your kids teachers, maybe they have stuff they dont want or need anymore. Anything will be will received.

A lot of things have happened

Well, I been working a lot at the new base, a lot of cleaning and dusting, and making beds, and getting stuff ready for teams to come, that has been fun, and consuming.

Last week I worked with an Evangelism team from Canada, it was lots of fun, and learned new things about ministry, made new friends.  Tita also had kittens in our closet, preferably on my shoes, good thing she wasn't that messy so, my shoes were saved. I also had the wonderful opportunity to visit disneyland with my nephews, it was their first time, they loved it!!! One of our closet mirror doors fell on my big toe, that was painful too.

questions, comments, don't forget to write on the comment box.

God bless.

I Want to show some stuff I've done since I learned how to crochet.

It happened Im 30

YES IM 30, and Im enjoying every minute of it, I had lots of fun celebrating, it felt more like a Holiday like Christmas, because I started celebrating since the 21st of february and my birthday was march 2nd.

My first celebration was with Pete, Teri and Dominic, they came down and we visited Sea World together, I had lots of fun, after that we had cake and pizza!!! Dominic liked that too. Chad and I went on a walk to the gaslight district downtown San Diego, loved it!! I love how a city is vibrant with life at night.

Then the weekend after that, I had a 70s themed party, I had lots of fun, my friend lily came to visit from Moreno valley, she studied in vanguardia with us. My friends from YWAM, were here too. And of course my sister and cousins.

On my birthdate, I went to this chic cafe in Tijuana, and had the best chocolate mousse in town, with my closest friends, I enjoy it a lot, spending time with the girls and having a good chat.

Thank you for giving me the best birthday ever!!! Im glad it was a milestone birthday.

One thing that Ive discovered is that my skin is getting better it looks healthier, weird uh???
