Haiti here I come...

So now its official I can share it with the rest of the world. Im going to Haiti. I have the privilege to be a servant of Christ to another nation

Ever since I was a child I remember my mother helping other people, growing up with a mother that was a nurse, kinda had its Advantages and disadvantages..

Disadvantages

1. you can't fake you are sick.
2. Your mom is not moved that much by your pain, or screaming (she has seen worse cases)
3. She can threaten you with giving you a shot so you can be more obedient.
4. You get to stop at every car accident and help if there is not an ambulance near by.
5. You get to see a lot of people with their bones sticking out.

Advantages.

1. You know the vital importance of giving help as quickly as possible
2. You learn to have empathy for the family or the people around the victim of an accident.
3. You learn the commitment that Health care workers have to life and to help the hurt.
4. You also definitely know if you really want to be a doctor or not. And not have to go to Med school and half way your schooling decide that you dont want to be a doctor.
5. You realize that the Greater good is always most important, and no matter what, people need your help, even if it means stoping on your way to something important.

With that being said, you also end up helping out a lot around the community, I remember helping out at a shelter that the city opened in Feb 1998 for families that lost their homes during the floods. I loved helping there, getting to know different people from different walks of life, and seeing other community members active helping their neighbors. I think my mother always showed me with her example that helping others is a habit, not necessarily an option.

I've felt from God a strong burden for the children in Haiti, I feel that God has put that feeling in my heart. I think about being there a lot, helping out and just hugging the kids and sharing Gods love and hope through difficult circumstances.

I am writing to ask if you would please pray about helping me to be able to go help in Haiti. The time for when we leave is pretty short. We head out on February 15th its only 2 and a half weeks away. Will you please pray for me and our team while I am gone? It would be a big help.
